MapFactor Navigator is a highly-rated GPS navigation app available on Google Play with over 35 million installs. It has recently been made compatible with Android Auto.
This free app utilizes offline maps from OpenStreetMaps, allowing users to navigate without an internet connection in over 200 countries. The app offers intuitive voice turn-by-turn navigation, as well as helpful features such as speed limits, camera warnings, and points of interest.
The key features of MapFactor GPS Navigation app include multi-language voice navigation, door-to-door route planning, detailed maneuver and distance information on the screen, offline maps with postcodes (including full GB postcodes), points of interest (including EV chargers), speed limit and camera warnings, favorite routes and places, 2D/3D display modes for realistic visual maps, day/night mode, various routing modes for different types of vehicles, route avoidance options, customizable settings, and Android Auto connectivity.
Optional features include professional TomTom maps, premium features like alternative routes and a head-up display, removal of ads, and customizable app color themes. The app also provides live HD traffic information in over 80 countries and allows for online search and remote commands.
The maps used by MapFactor Navigator are created by a community of volunteers at www.osm.org and are updated monthly for free. For large vehicles, there is also an option called Navigator Truck that uses TomTom maps and helps to avoid restrictions like low bridges and narrow lanes.
MapFactor also offers the popular NavigatorFREE GPS navigation software for PC, Pocket PC, WinCE, and iOS devices.
